April M Walton

April M. Walton, 54, of Sierra Vista passed away from breast cancer.

She was born Dec. 20, 1960 to Jim (deceased) and Janet Johnston in Tucson where she grew up with her brother, Tim, and sisters, Terri and Tracy.

She married Chad on Oct. 24, 2008. She was an outspoken woman with a tremendous heart. She served her community by joining the Citizens on Patrol and was an Arizona Ranger. Some of her many jobs included caring for elderly, mentally handicapped, and troubled youth. She was a fun, music-loving, cowgirl at heart. She raised her five children on her own and loved them more than life itself.

Richard “Dick” Dale Whisman

Richard “Dick” Dale Whisman, 74, of Sierra Vista, passed away on April 8, 2015, at the University Medical Center in Tucson.

Dick was born May 2,1940, in Franklin, Ohio, to Donley and Minnie Whisman. He was the seventh of eight children. He married Mary Joe Schrader in February 1968. She had two children from a previous marriage, John and Theresa. Dick and Mary Joe had one child, Catherine Michelle Whisman. They later divorced and Dick re-married Kaye Wyler in May 1977. Kaye had one child, Karen Marie Loper (Draper).

Manuel J. Vega

Manuel J. Vega, 92, a longtime resident of Junction City, Kan., died in the early morning hours of April 10, 2015, at his home in Lake Arthur, La.

The eldest of nine children, he was born on July 9, 1922, to Jesus Maria Vega and his wife Mary Bernadette (Velarde) in Durango, Colo. He grew up in that city and graduated from Durango High School.

Imogene Kimsey

Imogene Kimsey, 84, surrendered this earthly life to be in the arms of her beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 6, 2015, in Tucson, Ariz. She was born July 27, 1930, in Sheridan, Ore., to parents Robert and Grace Steward. After high school she attended nursing school until she met and married the love of her life, Percy Kimsey Jr. on Nov. 10, 1950. They enjoyed over 53 years together until he predeceased her on May 5, 2004, in Sierra Vista, Ariz.

Roseanna Brucks

Roseanna “Boeckmann” Brucks, a long time resident of Bisbee, Ariz. passed away at the age of 91 in Denver, Colo. Her husband, Roy J. Brucks, preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1982.

In 1994 Roseanna moved to Sierra Vista to be near her brother and his family. Due to illness, she moved to Denver in 2010 to be near her son, Roger and his wife, Bobbie until her passing.

Roseanna was a longstanding and loyal member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Warren on Arizona Street in Bisbee.

She is survived by her sons, Roy (Emma), Roger (Bobbie) and her brother, Albert C. Boeckmann, five grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. She was loved by all who knew her.

Eugene Francis O'Brien

Eugene Francis O’Brien, born July 11, 1932, in New York, N.Y., to Thomas and Frances O’Brien, passed away at home on April 2, 2015, in Hereford, Ariz. He is preceded in death by his parents, loving sister Elizabeth “Betty” Miscione and brother Edward Thomas.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Lorraine (Johnson) O’Brien, brother Charles, sister Ann, his daughters; Ann, Theresa, Mary, Catherine, and son Michael (Angel); five grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

Richard Delbert Dailey

Richard Delbert Dailey, age 93, passed away on Monday, April, 6, 2015, at the Life Care Center, Sierra Vista, Ariz., from complications following a fall at home.

Richard is survived by two sisters, Anna Berg, Lewiston, Idaho, and Sarah Rigby, St. George, Utah; five sons, Richard (Marge), Sierra Vista, Ariz., Joseph (Pam), Clarkston Wash., Phillip (Jane), Eltopia, Wash., John, Kenmore, Wash., and Scott, Pullman, Wash.; two daughters, Marilyn (Lamar) Nichols, Park City, Utah, and Susan (Mike) Ambrose, Thousand Oaks, Calif. He leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Alfred, and wives, Anna Lou and Linda.

Richard was born in Molson, Wash., the youngest son of seven children, to Harry and Inez Dailey.

Linda Smith

Linda Biedul Smith left this Earth in the early morning hours of April 7, 2015, on the wings of angels, bringing her to Our Loving Father’s arms. Linda was born Feb. 16, 1943, to Edward and Susan Biedul and joined a big brother, Gerald, at their home in beautiful rural northwest New Jersey.

Linda and Ron Smith were married in Corenc, France, on Dec. 23, 1987. They lived in several states before retiring to Sierra Vista in 2005. Linda was an avid bridge player in addition to loving golf, gardening and needlework. All those who met Linda became instant friends.

Gloria Murray

This is in remembrance of Gloria Joyce (Hartman) Murray, a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, who passed away at the Sierra Vista Regional Health Care Center on Good Friday, April 3, 2015, at approximately 8:11 p.m.

She was preceded to the everlasting embrace of kindness by her father, Werner C. Hartman; mother, Arletta M. (Heath) Hartman; her husband, Jack E. Murray, (Ret.) MSgt., U.S. Army on June 13, 2005; brothers, Bill Hartman; Jack Hartman; and a sister, Diane (Hartman) Zink.

She is survived by her daughter,Julia B. Murray of Sierra Vista; son, Dean Murray of Rockaway Beach, Ore., Steven Murray of Vancouver, Washington and a grandson, Deven Murray of Corvallis, Oregon.

James Allen Douglass

James Allen Douglass, or Jim as he was known by most, age 80, of Safford, quietly passed away Thursday evening, April 2, 2015.

James “Jim” Douglass was born on Dec. 29, 1934, in Salinas, Calif., to Everett and Mary Douglass. Jim and his family moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, where he spent his youth. In 1953, Jim enlisted in the United States Army and served his country for four years as a military police officer. 

In 1956, Jim met the love of his life, Bonnie Findley. They were married in Lordsburg, N.M., and have been together for 59 years.
