Joseph Arthur Romeo LeClair

Joseph Arthur Romeo LeClair was born on June 21, 1933, at Livermore Falls, Maine, to Lucien LeClair and Adrienne Fortier.

Joseph completed this life’s journey on the morning of Tuesday, April 14, 2015, while in hospice care in his own home. After many years of multiple health problems, he is now at rest with Our Lord.

Joseph was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny and Maurice, and also by two sons, Steven and David. He is survived by his wife, Terri; brother, Rene, and sister, Louise; sons, Michael and Jeffrey, and daughter, Toni. He also leaves behind four grandsons, five granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren.

Betty (Johnson) Shy

Who would have guessed that a little girl from Bloomington, Ind., would lead a life of exploration that took her to distant lands, teaching those she met to celebrate life?

Betty was the first of seven children born to Jack and Lucy (Lee) Johnson. Her sisters, Mary Lou (Kelly), Jean (Hazel), Doris (Mason), Dot Ann (Burns) and brother Jack grew up as a close-knit Indiana family that enjoyed being together.

During World War II, she was one of the first women to work at the Bowman Dairy Company in Chicago, Ill., stepping in to fill the place of men who went to war. She learned how to be independent and developed a deep love of country.

Pamela (Pam) F. Jarrett

Pamela (Pam) F. Jarrett, 75, of Sierra Vista, died of a sudden illness on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Tucson Medical Center. She was in good spirits and was loving to all during her last days. 

Pam was born in Hove, Sussex, England, in November 1939 to John William Blunt and Gladys Ellen Blunt. Pam was a noted swimmer in her youth, and just missed selection to the United Kingdom Olympic Swimming Team as a teen. She was a longtime British Airways VIP Customer Service Manager, and traveled the world improving BA customer care.

Pam married Francis E. Jarrett of Hawaii at the ‘Iolani Palace, Honolulu, Hawaii, in August 1982. They moved to Sierra Vista in May 1992.

Ismaela Encinas Blakey

Ismaela Encinas Blakey, 100, of Sierra Vista, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2015. Ismaela was born March 6, 1915, in Gleeson, Ariz., to Jose Maria Encinas and Theresa Apoderado.

She lived in Benson from 1943, where she and husband, William C. Blakey had a family and were very active in the community, until 2008 when she moved to Sierra Vista to be with her daughter.

Smiles celebrated her 100th birthday with all her family and friends. The VFW Riders fulfilled a childhood wish of Smiles’ to take a ride on a motorcycle. Smiles arrived at the party atop a Harley Davidson motorcycle with Dan “Gunny” Ferguson.

Kenneth R. Wilson

Kenneth R. Wilson, 82, of Sierra Vista was called to his heavenly home on April 14, 2015.

Ken was born in Carnegie, Okla., on March 31, 1933, to George and Lawton Holloway Wilson. He was raised in Mangum, Okla., and attended City View County School, where he graduated in 1950. After graduation he worked for the Mangum Star newspaper as a print setter until he enlisted in the USAF (1952-1956). After completing his tour in the USAF he worked as a civilian for the Army Strategic Communications Command (1956-1980).

Upon his retirement from Civil Service he went into Real Estate, starting his own business, Thunder Mountain Realty which he sold in 2000 due to declining health. 

Jason “Teddy” Hyde

Jason “Teddy” Hyde, 37, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away in his sleep on April 17, 2015, in Mesa, Ariz. He had been an Arizona resident all of his life.

Teddy was born on Dec. 27, 1977, on Fort Huachuca, Ariz., to Thomas S. Hyde and Rose Ellen Gobea. He was raised in the Sierra Vista area and after graduation from high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army. Teddy was living in Phoenix working as a desktop support representative working on his college degree for information technology.

John William Wise

John Wise peacefully went to sleep in death after a struggle with cancer on April 18, 2015. He died at home with his loving family.

Beth Willis Estes

Beth Willis Estes, 90, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015, in Azle. A Memorial service will be held at a later date in Sierra Vista, Ariz.

Ruth (Ermert) Adam

Ruth (Ermert) Adam, 84, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., a former resident of Kenosha, Wis., born to Friedrich and Martha Ermert, died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, April 14, 2015. She was born Jan. 11, 1931, in Germany where she was raised, met and was engaged to Gustav Adam. Arriving in the United States in 1952 she married Gus, the love of her life, in Kenosha on July 12, 1952. Following his passing in 2000, she moved to Sierra Vista, Ariz. Ruth was a committed and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed her family very much.
