William N. Burkhardt Sr., 77, a resident of Hereford passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at the Southern Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. A full obituary will run Tuesday, June 23, 2015.

CW4 (Ret.) Lester Feutz

CW4 (Ret) Lester Feutz, 83, passed away peacefully at home in Sierra Vista, Ariz., on June 7, 2015. He lived an exemplary and blessed life.

Les, the youngest of six sons, was born and raised on the family farm in Rubicon, Wis., to Abraham and Ida Feutz. After high school graduation, he worked in a muffler factory. During his lunch hour, Les took flying lessons, eventually earning his pilot’s license.

Cleta June Boyles

Cleta June Boyles, 80, beloved Mother of Carletta Skaggs, John Alexander, and Cindy Muse, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at a hospice facility in southern Arizona. Cleta was born in Clinton, Okla., on July 20, 1934, to Era Mae Johnson Davis and Emmett Davis, both preceding her in death.

Also preceding her passing was her daughter, Cindy Muse; her granddaughter, Amanda Slater; two sisters, Vera Smith and Lena Wirt; her twin brother, Clay Davis; brother, Emmett Davis and brother, Gale Davis.

Benny Wright Mahon

Mahon, Benny Wright, (Ben) 84, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, in Tucson.

He was born in Valliant, Okla., on June 26, 1930. He entered the Untied States Air Force in 1949 and retired in January 1975, after serving 26 years. Benny had numerous overseas and stateside assignments through out the career. He obtained the rank of Chief Master Sergeant (E-9) while serving as an Aircraft Maintenance Inspector. His awards and decorations are numerous; including the Bronze Star.

He is survived by his wife, Endgle (Kathy) of Huachuca City; sons, Paul David Mahon (Neva), Dale Lee Mahon (Mary), Ron Mahon and daughter Sheryl Bailey. He has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Frederick “Fred” P. Siems Ret. SFC U.S. Army

Frederick “Fred” P. Siems Ret. SFC U.S. Army, passed away peacefully at home, into the arms of our Heavenly Father on June 15, 2015. He was surrounded by his loving family throughout his unexpected illness, following hip surgery. Just as he did with all things in life, Fred called all of the shots until the very end.

Fred (affectionately known as Fritz or Grandpa Fred) was born in Lake City, Minn., to Anna and Carsten Siems. As a child, he was baptized and confirmed at Lincoln Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake City, Minn. Throughout his life, Fred was a deeply devoted member of his church, and an exemplary servant of God.

Dorothy Elizabeth Stangle

Dorothy Elizabeth Stangle, 98, and a 27-year resident of Sierra Vista and member of the Lutheran Church, passed away in San Antonio Texas, on April 15, 2015. Dorothy was born Jan. 8, 1917. She and her husband, the late William Martin Stangle, are survived by five sons, 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  

A small memorial service will be held at Fort Huachuca Post Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 22, where her ashes will be interred with her husband.

Byron Dion Hegedus

It is with great sadness to announce the sudden and very unexpected passing of my son, Byron “Dion” Hegedus, on the evening of Saturday, June 13, 2015. Byron, who was better known to all as “Dion”, was just 26 years old when he was called up to heaven to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We take great comfort knowing that Dion will be waiting at heaven’s pearly gates for us all, and we will see him again if we believe and accept our heavenly Father into our lives.

Joseph G. Barnhardt, Sr., 67, (SFC, U.S. Army, Retired), passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015, at the Tucson Medical Center. He had been a 26-year resident of Arizona.

SCF U.S. Army (Ret.) Frederick P. Siems, 92, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015.  Funeral services will be onFriday, June 19, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Sierra Evangelical Lutheran Church with interment following in the Cochise Memory Gardens. Colonel (USAF Ret.) Arthur W. (Andy) Anderson

Colonel (USAF Ret.) Arthur W. (Andy) Anderson, 97, of Corvallis, Ore., passed away peacefully Sunday, June 14, 2015, surrounded by four generations of his family. The son of Arthur M. and Lorene D. Anderson, he was born in St. Louis, Mo., on June 2, 1918, and raised in Sparta, Ill.

Andy is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joanne (Phillips) Anderson; brother John Anderson (Renate) of St. Louis, Mo.; son Jim (Lindy) Anderson of Sierra Vista, Ariz., daughter Karen (Anderson) Smith (Chuck) ofCorvallis, Ore.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother James Anderson, who sacrificed his life for his country in World War II.
