Big-time soccer finding a spring home in Tucson

SIERRA VISTA — Some of the biggest names in Major League Soccer have been in Tucson since last Wednesday to kick off the season with the Desert Diamond Cup.

The DDC has grown dramatically in the last year with the volume of teams, media attention and corporate attention. 

Last year’s tournament was pulled together through relationships. We are looking to make Tucson the western hub for preseason soccer as long as we can deliver with a field and amenities,” said Chief Business Officer and co-managing partner of FC Tucson Chris Kenney.
