BISBEE — Going into their season-opening Field of Dreams Memorial Weekend Tournament, the Bisbee Copper Kings had high hopes of walking away with the title.
But a 7-5 loss to the Thunder in Sunday’s final game of pool play relegated them to the third-place game, where on Monday afternoon, the Kings knocked off KFC 11-4 to finish the tournament with a 4-1 record.
In the championship game, the Thunder, as of press time, led the Yard Dogs 7-0 in the fifth inning
