trial date set for home invasion suspects
BISBEE — A date has been set for the jury trial of three suspects in a home invasion incident that occurred outside Sierra Vista in February.
Darius Tyrell Allen 23, Calvin Anastasia Driver, Jr., 22, and Jack Raymond Gilmour, 19, were arrested on February 6 by Cochise County Sheriff’s Deputies responding to a home in the Golden Acres neighborhood off of Highway 92.
The son of the victim had called deputies at about 8:30 p.m. to report that his mother had just called him to say that three men had just forced their way into her home armed with a gun.
While responding to the area, deputies stopped a vehicle containing several people matching descriptions of the suspects as relayed by the resident.
Three of the occupants, Allen, Driver and Gilmour, were soon arrested in connection with the incident.
Each of the suspects was indicted on Feb. 14 on a single count of burglary in the first degree, armed robbery, aggravated robbery and two counts each of kidnapping and aggravated assault in connection to the incident. ON Feb. 25, each suspect entered a plea of not guilty to all charges in Cochise County Superior Court.
On Friday, Division 3 Judge Wallace Hoggatt set a date for the joint trial of the suspects for Monday, July 29.
All three suspects remain booked in the Cochise County Jail.
