Friday crash victim dies at Tucson hospital

SIERRA VISTA — An 18-year female has died after a multiple vehicle collision on Coronado Drive near Laurel Lane Friday afternoon, Sierra Vista police reported Saturday.

Pronounced dead at a Tucson hospital, where she was taken by helicopter, is Deborah Marie Schumacher, Sgt. Chris Hiser said. Schumacher was in a black Lancer with another female who was also airlifted by a second helicopter from the scene.

Additionally, Jade Tyler Ideus, 19, was arrested for providing false information to law enforcement, which is a misdemeanor charge. He was booked into the Cochise County Jail, Hiser said. The sheriff deputy at the Sierra Vista section of the county jail said Saturday afternoon Ideus was released on his own recognizance that morning.
