Mexican Army foils border-tunnel operation





The Mexican Army broke up a border-tunneling operation this week in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Nogales, Sonora, the first such discovery in Ambos Nogales in more than five months.

The tunnel was approximately 110 meters long and began inside a home on Calle Titicaca. Sonoran reporters were allowed to view the tunnel on Thursday, and according to their reports, a square-meter opening in the wall of a room used to store clothing led to another compartment that housed the mouth of the tunnel. It had been covered with a piece of sheet metal.
