Trial date set in murder case

BISBEE — A man who allegedly killed a woman in Bisbee is now scheduled for trial in May in Cochise County Superior Court.
Paul Lawrence Rosas, 56, is charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, two counts of negligent homicide, as well as theft of means of transportation, specifically a 2000 Dodge van, on July 30, and committing abandonment or concealment of a dead body between July 1 and July 30.
He was set for a jury trial starting Feb. 5, but it is now scheduled to begin May 7 in Division 3 court.
Rosas was apprehended in September by Murray, Utah, police officers. Bisbee police had been searching for him since the discovery of Melinda Carley’s badly decomposed body in the bathroom of her apartment on Aug. 1.
