FORT HUACHUCA — The last of four family neighborhoods to be constructed on this southern Arizona Army post is nearing completion.

Already families are moving into Signal Village and the official dedication of the area was held Tuesday in front of a 2,777 square foot home — not including the two-car garage — which will be occupied by Col. Ken McCreary and his wife Theresa.

The creation of privatized housing on Army installations a few years ago took the construction of family quarters away from the Department of Defense budgeting process, and through a partnership of non-government companies.

In the case of Fort Huachuca, the Michaels organization became the post’s partner.
