State superintendent grades local schools, districts





SIERRA VISTA — Thursday, school districts across the state were graded by Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal and only one local Cochise County district earned a high score.

Palominas Elementary District received the only "A" in Cochise County.  

School districts including Bisbee Unified, Fort Huachuca Accommodation, Tombstone Unified, Sierra Vista Unified, Apache Elementary, Cochise Elementary, Valley Union High School and St. David all received "Bs." The alternative, charter school Omega Alpha Academy also received a "B."

Elfrida Elementary and McNeal Elementary both received "Cs."
