BISBEE  — The Bisbee Community Tennis Association’s free program for 70 children aged 5 to 11 came to a close Thursday with a medal ceremony and, best of all according to the kids, a pizza party.

BCTA was able to sponsor the summer tennis program thanks to a partnership with the Bisbee 1000 Great Stair Climb, said member Carolyn Crane. Whatever money they could bring in with the sale of the tickets, they could keep if the Bisbee 1000 met the Freeport McMoRan, Inc., match challenge of raising $20,000.

"The moms sold most of the raffle tickets," added Crane. "They did the work and brought us in $700 we could use for this program."
