Jobs, education keys to success, Stonebraker says
SIERRA VISTA — Whether it is education first and jobs second, or jobs first and education second, the two needs for rebuilding Arizona’s economy are closely related, a Democratic candidate for Arizona’s Legislative District 14 House seat said Friday.
Education is the foundation for a strong work force and for jobs that require a strong educational background, Mark Stonebraker said.
Unfortunately the GOP controlled Legislature has been ignoring the public school system, favoring charter schools instead, he said.
“Their solution is throwing public school funding out and supporting charter schools,” Stonebraker told the Herald/Review.
