Report urges alternative to mass deportation of illegal immigrants

BISBEE — A special report issued earlier this month by the Immigration Policy Center called “Discrediting ‘Self Deportation’ as Immigration Policy” argues that forcing all illegal immigrants to leave the United States would make life difficult for everyone.

The strategy called “attrition through enforcement” was conceived by national immigration restrictionist organizations, including the Federation for American Immigration Reform, Center for Immigration Studies and Numbers USA.

I am an American Citizen whose grandparents fought for Mexico in their Revolution. The rights and land reform they fought for was never realized, and they chose to legally migrate to this country. Since then their sons and grandsons have fought for the United States of America in WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf Wars. My grandparents fled the corrupt system of a few wealthy families controlling the country and the hopeless poverty of the Mexican peasants. They fled a system that imposed laws and regulations on all except those with the price of the bribe or “knowing someone important.” Our country’s winking at the illegal immigration laws is in keeping with this “rules only for those who can’t pay” thinking. Title: Well said

L.A.  well put, except you got cut off by the word limit czar.  I wish you could tell your story to all the High School students who insist on flying the Mexican flag and saying that this part of America was illegally taken from Mexico.

Tell them if they like Mexico so much, then they should try living there for a year or so, when they come back to the US with their tails between their legs then they can talk about freedom and what it really means to live in America.

Enough has been said of removing illegals from our country. I love Al’s comment about the audacious lawsuits filed by Mexico. It’s time we, as American Citizens, sue MEXICO every time one of their illegals commit a crime, injure or kill someone, or just plain do something we don’t like. Time our government starting sending bills to the Mexican government, and every other country whose citizens are living here illegally. Too bad no one in DC has any huevos anymore. Guess they have to be neutered to be elected?
