Police search for man that approached young girl

Send to friendHUACHUCA CITY — Police in Huachuca City are on the lookout for a man they say approached a young girl on her way home from school and offered her a ride in his truck.
According to a press release from the Huachuca City Police Department, the incident occurred at about 1:30 p.m. Friday as the first-grader was heading home after getting off the school bus in the area of Yuma Street and Gonzales Boulevard.
After being asked if she wanted a ride, the girl ran to the nearby home of a relative, who called police.
The driver of the black pickup is described as a male with short brown hair and brown facial hair.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the Huachuca City Police Department at (520) 456-1353.
Parents are also encouraged to remind their children of the dangers of talking with strangers and accepting rides from people they don’t know.
