FORT HUACHUCA — While an environmental opponent to Ft. Huachuca contends most of the post’s missions can be done elsewhere to ensure two endangered species — a plant and a bird — can survive, Garrison Commander Col. Timothy Faulkner disagrees with Dr. Robin Silver’s view on at least two issues.
“We have been through this before (environmental lawsuits). We have a great team of experts who will work closely with the Department of Justice and the Fish and Wildlife Service,” Faulkner said.

That’s truely remarkable…The fort has led the way in water conservation practices. I think, everyone to be support the fort…
Silver needs to go worry about his own neck of the woods.
I agree with this comment regards Robin Silver. For you who do not know, Robin Silver owns land near the San Pedro and would like to close down Fort Huachuca. For some reason or another he has the vision that his property would become more valuable if Fort Huachucas dud not exist. If they closed many people would pack up and leave the area. Oobin Silver has a distorted view.
So very true that the fort has led the way in water conservation. What a shame the local communities have not done as well. They talk big about supporting the fort but don’t actually do what needs to be done for fort protection and local economic security. What’s their problem??!
I’m really starting to hate these self-righteous environmentalists. As long as I can remember, Ft. Huachuca has been at the forefront of conservation practices. I support the fort 100%.
