Ok Who decided to keep the blimp up in these high winds. I got an alert on my iphone this morning about the high wind advisory so I am willing to bet they got a more detailed one than I did.
I’m not sure but I figured it was down and still pulled loose. Apparently one in NM actually pulled up its mooring aparatus under similar circumstances.
Nope it was up because had it been down it would not have fallen on town. The last aerostat they had that was damaged in 2009 was on the ground and it only damaged the AF site and nothing else. Also a lot of folks saw the aerostat up yesterday before this happened.
Just because it fell on town doesn’t mean that it was up. It is designed to rise, and if not tethered it would rise. Then when deflated it would fall. Yes, maybe it is time for them to build a hanger for it. This is a costly accident.
I’ll bet someone’s going to be really sorry it wasn’t moored.
