SIERRA VISTA — It was April 17, 2010, when the Sierra Vista Regional Health Center entered into an agreement with Catholic-based Carondelet Health Network, which could have led to a merger between the two not-for-profit medical providers.

But sometime next week, the initial planned two-year agreement will be terminated.

On Tuesday morning, Margaret Hepburn, the president and chief executive officer of the health center met with some local media outlets, including the Herald/Review, to talk about the board of trustees’ decision.

Doesn’t anyone remember that just a few months ago the hospital held a press conference still spouting the glorious affiliation with Carondolet?  What happened in that short of time to change their tune?  This administration & board of directors needs to hit the road.  They are self serving, sneaky & have no respect for the community’s needs.  Perhaps Carondolet deciced to back out not wanting to deal with the leaders of the SVRHC.

Title: Smart?

You people won’t think you’re so smart when you are lying there dead because you protested upgrading the hospital. You reap what you sow.

Bravo people! Now what did you win? You prevented an investor that would have provided more funding to a hospital that is in dire need of more doctors, nurses, medical equipment, etc. Now just who is going to step up & provide the capital for the demands in improved medical care you make?

Whatever happens now in the future of this hospital, & this community, is all by your virtue. You will now get the hospital, & community, you deserve! Consequences are a part of life. Don’t cry if you see a decrease of medical care & innovation because there is nobody willing to invest in your community.

What investor? There was no agreement to invest anything. If you went to the meetings or did anything but post on the internet all day, you would know that.. The eventual result was our hospital was going to be given to Carondolet for free.

Whose hospital? You want to show us this property right to the hospital you claim to have an ownership in? Free? A merger is now defined as free? LOL! HH, people like you blew it! You destroyed any chance of any improvement in the quality of medical care in Sierra Vista. I sure hope those medical procedures you gave precedence to are worth the improved quality care you sacrificed for.

You get the hospital you deserve

Who is the owner if it isn’t the community? Non-profit corporations have no shareholders and yes no payment would be made in a merger or takeover.

Your endless circular factless invalid arguments are boring. You have no clue what was or wasn’t.

Title: You won

You won Henry,, get over it! It’s your hospital! You happy? Good for you! You won!

I’ll be watching out for the next OYM article that is very upset with your hospital’s unsatisfactory medical care.

But hey,,,,You Won! Now let’s see you improve it!

Hmmm,,,, a community owned hospital that, that resides in a retirement community, chose the "reproductive rights" of a woman over improving the health care of the elderly…… Yeah…… you get the hospital you deserve….

Freethinker you hit this one square on the head. These folks will probably complain no matter what the board does and you are right that when health care starts to show signs of not being good enough they will start complaining again. Typical liberal in this town always wants something for nothing.

HR, I can’t wait for the complaints to fly! I can hear them now, "Where are all the good doctors?" "Why doesn’t this town have a decent Hospital?" "Why does the illegal alien & welfare recipient get special preference over me?" "Why does a Tylenol cost $90.00?" "The staff was rude to me" Blah, blah, blah…

But hey….. they kept them evil Christians from denying medical procedures that MOST WOMEN DON’T WANT!!! LOL! Don’t these people know that single women are not eligible for welfare but, single MOTHERS are?

LOL! There’s "Freedom of Choice" for them! They now have made the choice to have lousy health care services. They get the medical care they deserve.

Title: Win/No-win

"Now what did you win?"

We won the freedom of choice.

"You prevented an investor that would have provided more funding to a hospital that is in dire need of more doctors, nurses, medical equipment, etc."

Oh I see, Carondelet was doing this out of the goodness of their hearts, they were’nt going to make a profit and spread the word of God according to the Catholics (I’m a Catholic) to the poor slobs down in Cochise County.

"Whatever happens now in the future of this hospital, & this community, is all by your virtue."

As it should be!

"Don’t cry if you see a decrease of medical care & innovation because there is nobody willing to invest in your community."

Not to worry we won’t, what won’t happen is our hospital dollars going elsewhere.
