TUCSON — Tucson Sector Border Patrol Chief Randy Hill said Friday that the agency will have control of the western part of Arizona by October after seeing notable success in the eastern part of the state.

Arrests in what the agency calls the West Desert, west of the Baboquivari Mountains northwest of Nogales, are up this year, Hill said, even while they are dropping sharply elsewhere in the sector that sees the most illegal crossings in the country.

I certainly hope the Border Patrol gets this section under control.  We already have lost too many lives awaiting for this to happen.

Tell it to the family of the Border Patrol agent that was killed.

Title: Total Bull

The Homeland Propaganda Ministry seems to take Goebbels literally:  “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”

When you choose to focus only on selected areas and leave other areas unmonitored you can get whatever results you want.  But of course that’s what they need to do to convince those easily misled that the border is secure so now it’s time for another amnesty, deceptively called "comprehensive immigration reform."

Frankly I’m far more inclined to believe the GAO report that says only15% of our southern border is "controlled."  See GAO-11-374T  Border Security: Preliminary Observations on Border Control Measures for the Southwest Border  (http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d11374t.pdf)

I have no reason to believe a single word from this group.

“I have no reason to believe a single word from this group”

And yet, when the GAO takes exactly the same data, from exactly “this group”
(you really ought to read the report, instead of just skimming it for
soundbites), and repackages it, you suddenly find it credible.

Good choice of subject line, though: what you wrote was, indeed, “Total
 Bull”.
