‘No weapons’ signs would be moot

State Sen. Steve Gallardo, D-Phoenix, argues a point as senators debate a new Arizona gun bill on the floor of the Senate in Phoenix.

PHOENIX — With both sides invoking the memory of the Tucson shootings, the Senate voted 21-8 on Thursday to expand where people can carry their guns.
SB 1201 would make most public buildings places where weapons are permitted. It would allow gun owners to ignore the “no weapons’’ signs now posted on most buildings unless visitors also had to either go through metal detectors or be screened by security personnel with hand-held wands.

The more we push to have guns everywhere, the result will only equal more violence. AZ has become a mockery of the Constitution. Pearce is a rogue idealist with zero evidence to support his claims. Ironically enough, he does NOT want you to bring guns into his office. Why is that Pearce? Pearce knows the truth that more guns equals more violence. If Pearce truely believed in SB 1201, then he would allow the people into his office with guns.
IAM4TRUTH: Do you get the feeling you are a lone crusader? Every reply I read after your comments appear to be against what ever you have to comment.
Perhaps it is because they constatly lie? Perhaps it is because they have on many occasions claimed that people should lose multiple consititutional rights? Perhaps it is because they live in a fantasy world supported by the editor? The list is long.
A mockery claims the liar who wants to have multiple constitutional rights taken away from people.
So Why does Pearce want to take away your constitutional rights? Why does he insist everyone coming into his office disarm? Does his senate bill make him the biggest hypocrit in AZ government? Write Pearce and demand he allow guns into his office. Also, write Jack Harper and ask why he won’t allow guns into his office. These guys are supposed to be proponents of individual rights yet they want to limit your rights.
So again the editor allows you to make things up while cutting out facts from others. Good job. By the way IM4LIES, it’s not hard to see how you can’t face reality when it’s you I’m addressing and not some person in office. The question is, why do you IM4LIES want to take away so many constitutional rights from others. When you can actually answer a question instead of trying to twist it then perhaps you will be starting down the path of recovery from your addition to lies and fantasy.
IAM4TRUTH, individual rights stop where property rights begin.
Is Pearce’s office public property or private property?
The right of the people to keep & bear arms does not extend the right to impose on private property
Again, uh duh, Pearce’s office is contained within the Senate building, a gun free zone. Once more, Jack Harper’s office is at 1700 W Washington, care to guess what that is? That’s right, the exact same gun free zone, sheesh. State reps have a tendency to have their offices there. Your ignorance is truly astonishing,.
Guns are everywhere already. If you don’t believe that then your living in a fanticy world. This law will allow the law abiding citizen a chance to defend them selves. After all most gun massacres here in the US happen in GUN FREE ZONES!
… Again why won’t Pearce allow guns in his office? Hmmm? Please answer that one! Pearce doesn’t like the 2nd amendment in his office. Funny coming from a guy who rakes in dollars from lobbyists like the NRA…
