SIERRA VISTA — A local mental health nonprofit is rallying to raise money to offset a more than 50 percent cut to its budget, while supporting an increased number of people seeking services after being cut from state programs. The Southeastern Arizona chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness has been hit hard by budget cuts made by the state Legislature. After the recent tragedy in Tucson, a spotlight has been put on mental health care in Arizona.

As much as three quarters of hospital staff are usually burdened with some sort of billing-related work in a traditional billing system. Opting for electronic medical billing solutions (ones that come with free EMR plans) that fit easily into the healthcare business’ workflow are key to freeing up staff resources.

First the Dems say political vitriol (which they must have forgotten in Wisconsin); now for pandering it is accepted that it was mental instability.
If you think this is bad, wait till election time. Some Dems are already campaigning over Gifford’s shooting. They are going to try and capitalize and point the finger at Republicans again. Truly disgusting.
You might be right, but lets be honest. Dems AND Reps both love to point fingers at the other whenever possible. This instance might be the left pointing at the right, but tomorrow or the next day it will be the other way around.
To use the shooting of Giffords, et al, when asking the public for money is manipulative. Giving money to the NAMI doesn’t get change the laws making family members powerless when a loved one is mentally ill. I tried attending NAMI meetings for family members and all I ever got from them was, "Feel sorry for the person. Let them do what ever crazy things it is they do." Nothing about how to get them the help they need. Nothing about forcing the issue with them. Just back patting, knowing nods and, "You have no choice but to suck it up." In order to prevent what happened to Giffords, et al, the laws regarding the mentally ill needs to change giving family members more power to hospitalize them. NAMI doesn’t say anything about changing the laws. All I read here is, "We’re going to remind you, ad nauseum, about what Jared Laughner did in the hopes you’ll empty your bank account to give to us. We can’t effect any real change with regard to the legalities of mentally ill family members - we just want your money."
NAMI has been an amazing support to myself in my family. That is why I will be walking I hope you will join in raising money with us or sponsor someone. Help keep the Doors open. Great article Lynanne
You know there is only one way to deal with the insane people, why are we afraid to do anything about them?
