NACO, Ariz. — About 100 people turned out for the Progressive Democrats of America’s Border Peace and Social Justice fair in the border town of Naco, Ariz., on

It was a kickoff for a series of events that will be held around the state this week, including in Tucson today, in Phoenix on Tuesday and Wednesday, and in Flagstaff on Thursday.

The America envisioned by the Progressive Democrats of America is not a sovereign country, with the right to secure its borders and the duty to defend its citizens against foreign invaders. The PDA’s vision would make America a dumping ground for every country that fails to provide adequate employment, civil and human rights for its citizens.

The America envisioned by the Progressive Democrats of America IS a sovereign country, where the People - not the corporations, or their political handmaidens - are sovereign.  We The People ARE the government, and we’re responsible when it misbehaves.

Migrations occur because of political and economic conditions.  Class warfare tactics like corporate-sponsored "free trade" policies enrich the rich and impoverish people who have to work for a living - on both sides of the border.  NAFTA has destroyed subsistence farming in Mexico.

There is no fence high enough to keep out refugees from conditions like these.

Lumer shows her obvious bias and disdain by claiming to be concerned about the "damage" done by the fence and ignores the glaringly obvious damage done by the tons of garbage being dumped by illegals and the damage by the thousands of illegals to the local flora.  Spare us your selective concern.

Windson:  I agree with you regards damage caused by the tons of garbage dropped by the ILLEGALs coming across our Mexican border.  When I lived in Bisbee I saw first hand the trash dropped off in my neighborhoods.  We received no help from any level of government: local, county, state, or federal.  Each neighborhood had to clean up the messes caused by the ILLEGALS.
