PHOENIX — Gov. Jan Brewer is defending Arizona laws which allow the sale of firearms at gun shows without a background check and forbid cities from imposing such requirements.
“We believe our laws are fair and just in the state of Arizona,” the governor said Monday.

Most crimminals commit gun crimes with a stolen gun. No brackground checks there.
Some people must be so sheltered….really? You really think
That background checks stop criminals from getting guns? First off….
I am not a criminal, but even I could easily tell you how to get a gun
Without a background check….I can think of 3 ways easy…and a criminal could probably add to my list without hesitation. The reality is…you must educate yourself about guns and decide if you should carry…..the criminals already do.
A background check won’t even slow them down….the more laws about guns,
The more money there will be in illegal sales…get it?
Honestly you should educate yourself before you make such foolish comments. Since the Brady Background checks were first introduced, over a million people have been denied buying a gun. Based of your flawed philosphy, there should be no DUI laws or laws against murder because people are going to do it anyways. It is obvious that you are arrogant. It is obvious you know nothing about the criminal justice system. Your assumption that a criminal will just get a gun regardless of the laws is inconsistant with reality. Background checks have been extremly useful over the years. However, the loophole in the law does make it easier for criminals to buy guns. Failure to close the loophole enables criminals easy access to guns. Stop enabling the criminal element! Please educate yourself, you are foolish and naive!
Please do not assume you know me….Yes I do understand the criminal justice system. That was once my career and degree path. So I understand it very well, as well as the criminals determination to achieve his goal. Just because I am not so eloquent in delivering my message does not mean I am arrogant or naive…I usually don’t bother to comment on things I don’t know or understand. But please believe, I certainly have knowledge of guns and criminals as well as the justice system. Maybe you are not educated as to the criminal world or you choose to believe they could never be so crafty or devious.Whatever the case…feel free to strongly believe that this law will “take a bite out of crime”. As I am free to believe, it wouldn’t be worth the paper they write it on. Maybe that also comes from growing up with teens, who all had guns …none were acquired legally..nor from their parents…magically appearing guns ..LOL do exist.
With RICO violations?
He and his gang conspired to violate Federal law.
Did they buy the guns for Bloomberg?
That’s a "Strawman Purchase".
Maybe the Arizona Attorney will bring charges against Bloomberg soon.
There haven’t been, and won’t be, any charges, because the people involved
know what the laws are.
RICO is a specific set of statutes, that applies to specific activities, not
a magic incantation for casting a spell on anyone who does anything you don’t
like.
I have to laugh at you conservatives. First you praise Brewer on the immigrantion issue because allegedly the feds don’t enforce the immigration issue well enough. Now you do an about face and castigate Bloomberg when he exposes Arizona’s lax gun control because Arizona is not enforcing gun laws. Can’t have it both ways.
I have to laugh at you Desertman. Just because it’s fun to laugh at Liberals. Only a Lib would send someone to a state that he has NOTHING to do with and pull a stunt like this. Only a Lib would be stupid enough to think that since he is a MAYOR - not a Congressman, Senator, Governor, or any other FEDERAL office holder - he can change FEDERAL LAW with his sophomoric antics. If you like what he did, Desertman, why don’t you move to New York and become, Cityman? Bloomberg has no jurisdiction here. Of course, that never stopped a Lib from trying to screw with people’s CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS before, has it?
Desertman just what gun laws are not being enforced? Do you know the difference between a STATE law & a FEDERAL law? Securing our borders is a FEDERAL law that this administration is ignoring. Gun laws are STATE laws that are being enforced. The merchants that participate at gun shows DO FOLLOW & UNDERSTAND THE AZ STATE LAW FOR GUN SALES WITHIN THE STATE OF AZ! For crying out loud,,,,,STOP BLAMING THE MERCHANT FOR THE CRIME COMMITTED BY THE CRIMINAL!!! The mayor of NYC is anti-gun & has a problem with states that aren’t as strict as his city is. Now if the mayor of Phoenix has no problem with Bloomberg stepping on his toes then so be it. That’s a problem for the citizens of Phoenix for electing such a coward for a mayor.
I would like to see a guy like Bloomberg run for president and put an end to the sale of weapons without background checks! There is no reason why all gun sales can’t go through background checks. The Supreme Court has already ruled that they are perfectly legal. Good job mayor Bloomberg! Too bad we have a coward for a governor. Brewer needs to be impeached!
