Giffords wins re-election to U.S. House; Kelly says voters have spoken

SIERRA VISTA — Democratic U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has won a third term, narrowly beating her GOP opponent and tea party favorite Jesse Kelly.
In view of the results of Tuesday’s election, Giffords said more centrist House leadership for Democrats will be key to her party’s survival.
“We need to be more center than left,” she told the Herald/Review Friday night after a news conference in Tucson that she held after Kelly conceded.

The republicans of Boehner and Rand Paul are already planning on making
defense cuts. This is what you republicans asked for and now you are going to
get smaller government, smaller defense, and less security. I wonder what
good Jimbo with his shotgun is going to be when terrorists weaponize some

and almost as bad as the fact that out of over 77k+ registered voters, less
than 48% turned out to exercise their guaranteed & protected right to voice
their choice in how things are done… wish more folks would learn to
practice patience and disagree/discuss issues in a logical manner instead of

I would rather have Healthcare Reform versus the repubican version known has
republicanDontcare reform. It requires people to be responsible and to carry
health insurance. We already require drivers to carry a minimum amount of
auto insurance, so the concept has been around for decades. The 500 billion
in Medicare cuts are reductions in waste. Is anyone else curious as to why
kelly did not want to reduce waste? I saw kelly’s signs, and they just made
him look stupid. And yes Kelly’s campaign was fed by stimulus dollars that he
professed as evil. Kelly became the ultimate hypocrit much like freethinker
and wildfire. …
Again a person that can’t think. First driving is not a right but a
privilege. You are not required to have auto insurance unless you want to
drive. Everyone is not required to get auto insurance. Under Obamakare you
are required to get insurance or be fined. Another thing you are ignorant on
is that Kelly did want to reduce waste. Apparently you never bothered to ask
the man like I did or even look at his platform because that was one of his
biggest talking points. And one other thing to shut you up, he did not use
stimulus money for his campaign because that is illegal. He used donations
like every other candidate did. So next time before you speak get some facts
because with every post you have on here you just show how ignorant you
really are.
You still have that kelly ad on your name LOL!!! Kelly received his allowance
from Daddy. Daddy got his money from stimulous money. Daddy then fed jesse
that stimulus money via his allowance. Then jesse used that to buy his
hate/attack ads thus stimulus dollars paid for his campaign. It is nice to
see this brain child is now out of his allowance and Gabby is still wearing
the pants in this CD! Kelly supported over spending of Medicare, which is why
he put out all those signs. It was a foolish mistake on his part. Making
people be responsible is not a bad thing dude. I only wish the heral would
make you be responsible with your words. Your childish rants are factless and

Childish? The only one childish and foolish is you and the Herald would be
very responsible banning you from posting your lies. You obviously don’t
understand campaign finance and even if I explained it to you, you would not
get it because you are just too ignorant to get anything. The only thing you
know is the wicked witch of the west won again, probably from illegal votes.
Oh and by the way Kelly will probably run in 2012 and will beat …Giffords
next time round. It is the ignorant voters that got her back in. That is the
problem with this district. We have to many …that just vote without knowing
what the candidate stands for.

vote for a looser for a 2nd time? Well I hope kelly keeps his allowance in
his piggy bank, because he will need every penny of it. I hope he spends
daddy’s allowance just like he has done the past 6 months! LOL! Kelly has
become the joke of the county! In the media circles everyone is laughing at
how fat they got off of jesse spending his allowance on all those ads! In the
mean time Daddy kelly keeps getting more stimulus projects. I guess he will
have to in order to keep giving baby jesse his allowance!

in Cochise county so I guess the joke was on you and your liberal Gifford
supporters. If it wasn’t for the dope smokers and illegals in Tucson she
would be out looking for a new job right now.
Instead of picking the sort of experienced centrist candidate that’s
traditionally represented this area, the Republicans decided that the way to
ride this year’s pro-GOP wave was to superglue a kitten to a dollar-store
boogieboard.
If it weren’t for the dittoheads, Beckbots, and other assorted kool-aid
drinkers of Cochise County, the odds are good that Giffords would be out
looking for a new job right now.
