PHOENIX — Rep. Gabrielle Giffords fought off a strong challenge from Republican Jesse Kelly to win re-election to a third term representing Arizona’s 8th Congressional District in the U.S. House.

Also, Rick Mueller will apparently be the new mayor of Sierra Vista, as about 2,300 early and provisional ballots counted on Friday failed to turn the tight race in the favor of his opponent, Henrietta “Hank” Huisking.

In the congressional race, Giffords’ margin of victory was just over 1 percent.

Way to go Giffords…. I’m sure that Keith Olbermann money was a great help.

Kelly was no hero of mine. His reckless pursuits and snug behavior was his
ultimate downfall. He ran his campaign like a child with attack ads and no
substance. He won ‘t go down as a winner, but a whiner! LOL!!! Congrats
Gabby! It is good to know the voice of the people still counts!
