Inquiry into Arpaio's office raises concerns
Neighboring sheriff vows due process

PHOENIX — Two Maricopa County supervisors say an investigation into operations at the county sheriff’s office should be conducted by a neutral agency and not Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu.
Board Chairman Don Stapley and Supervisor Mary Rose Wilcox say Babeu is a close political ally of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, and having an investigation supervised by Babeu will cloud the probe.
