Do you ever wonder what the San Pedro River Valley looked like before modern times? Fortunately, the following documented descriptions give us glimpses into the past.

In 1540, the Coronado Expedition is thought to have passed through our river valley and the journals from that expedition describe it thusly; “covered with grasses as high as a man on a horse.”
