SIERRA VISTA — With appearances on cable news channels and in front of Congress members increasing exponentially these last few months, Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever has become one of the most visible faces and loudest voices representing the efforts of local-level law enforcement to force the hand of the federal government to take stronger measures to secure the nation’s border with Mexico.
“It’s been an interesting set of circumstances that have led to this,” Dever said in a phone interview Thursday.

Every year 130000 die from diseases they got from visiting the hospital.
Physicians are aware of this phenomenon it has a name iatrogenic meaning
hospital caused. There was no word for jail caused diseases so I coined one
fylakigenic meaning jail caused. Most people who are arrested are innocent.
Regardless even if law enforcement did their job perfectly it would be in
your best interest to make sure jail health care facilities are well funded.
Most people who are arrested will eventually return to the community. This is
all standard epidemiology. I intend to prove that through willfull violations
of the law the criminal justice system kills more people than they save. Of
course it will take a pandemic to get your attention.
Sheriff Dever wasn’t “traipsing” around the county on public speaking, he was
in New Mexico as the newly elected chairman of the Southwest Border
Sheriff’s Coalition, a coalition which works together to keep residents of
Cochise County and other safe. He was doing his job. Under your premise,
Obama should stay in the White House and not speak at Congress etc etc.
I agree with your posting about Sheriff Dever. As chairman of the Southwest
Border Sheriff’s Coalition this organization will protect the people from the
Illegal Drug Cartels who would do us harm. Incidently, my old and long gone
friend, former Sheriff of Cochise County, Jimmy Wilson had the same position
before he died.
They are fighting to ensure my family is safe and free to go about our lives
in American. If that means he has to go and put in foot in someone’s behind
elsewhere.. then he is doing the job that I as a tax paying America Citizens
am paying him to do… Thank You Sheriff!!
Sheriff Devers was hired by the people of Cochise County to serve us. He
should not be traipsing about the country on a public speaking tour (just as
sheriff Joe shouldn’t). Both of these men should be home, in Arizona, doing
the jobs we elected them to do and pay them to do.
They are doing their jobs organizing a group of Sheriffs who will oppose the
Mexican Drug Cartels who are coming into our state shooting citizens such as
the rancher near Douglas. Likewise the threatening of law enforcement
officers such as the shooting of the deputy in Pinal County as well as a
threatening letter to the Sheriff of Pinal County. It’s ultra liberals like
you who hamper our officials from doing their jobs. If you check into this
deep enough you will find many sheriffs from many counties in Southern
Arizona joining forces against the Mexican Drug Cartels who have taken over
Mexico. Wake up girl and get with the facts.
