SIERRA VISTA —  The leadership of the Sierra Vista Regional Health Center will be holding two community meetings on Sept. 20 to talk about the agreement with Carondelet and to answer questions from both supporters and opponents of the decision made by the medical facility’s board of trustees earlier this year.

.”But the ‘deal’ may bring better service and reasonable fees”. I
will get over it by doing the following. While this sounds good on the
surface but in reality there are a lot of people, myself included, that will
not use the hospital for any of their inpatient or outpatient services. If I
need an operation I will go to TMC or UMC in Tucson. There are two local
locations that do my blood testing, while Sierra Vista Diagnosis does all my
x-rays, Cat scans, and other radiation procedures. There is another local
place that provides hospice services (Valor Hospice Care & The Valor
Institute for Palliative Medicine) in Sierra Vista which I will use if I am
dying. . Please note that none of these facilities are affiliated with what
used to be our local hospital The Fort Commander has also instructed all of
their Post patents needing certain procedures that used to be available
locally, at what used to be our local hospital, to go to Tucson. As for
better service, after a merger rumor

“The Fort Commander has also instructed all of their Post patents”….is this
based on hearsay or do you have access to the memo?

Title: Get over it

FROM THE HYPOCRATIC OATH: ” I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody if
asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will
not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard
my life and my art.” THAT SHOULD END THE CONVERSATION. When the unborn can be
terminated and cannot speak for themselves, I believe it to be wrong. When an
alert yet dying individual CANNOT be assisted in suicide, and CAN speak for
themselves, I believe that to be equally wrong. Above is the oath, currently
selectively followed. Doctors, Planned Parenthood can perform certain
procedures in offices. End of life? Bring the individual home and let them
pass peacefully in their own bed. The PRIMARY reason a hospital and doctors
and nurses exist is to preserve life, not end it. No one is being asked to
convert to Catholicism. But the ‘deal’ may bring better service, and
reasonable fees.

The (oath) HYPOCRATIC OATH as quoted is the current version, since that
applies only to the Doctors that swear to it; (non-doctors) are not bound by
it. I believe that the person who wrote this comment does not have any
daughters because his or her answer would be different if their daughter was
or might be raped. I am not sure of what I would do in the event one of my
two daughters was raped. It would be her decision as to whether she wanted to
keep the baby or to abort it. However as a father and not a doctor, in the
event she wants to have an abortion, I would certainly help her obtain either
the Morning After Pill or an abortion. With our criminal justice system the
rapist would in all probability go free after a trial. One of the 10
Commandants states the: “Thou shall not commit Murder”, however I would
be hard pressed not to do that on the rapist… .”But the ‘deal’ may
bring better service and reasonable fees”. I will get over it by doing the
following. While this sounds

Title: Carondelet

I personally believe Carondelet is a good organization is spite of the nay
 sayers.

JustMe2010 on Thu, 09/09/2010 - 10:39

I have read over the last several months comments and listened to how both
sides of the coin feel about this agreement. I personally feel that this
Cochise Citizen’s group is spreading hateful rumors to scare the public.
After personally speaking to upper staff at the hospital, I feel my questions
and concerns have been appropriately answered. So please tell me other than
tubal ligations being discontinued (which is customary for businesses,
companies, and organizations to discontinue offering produts, services, &
items as they grow and change), in your words “It is NOT okay for the only
hospital to deny so many services,” what other services are you referring to
as being denied? Have you yourself been denied anything? If so, what? I am
looking forward to meeting the panel and hearing what the future plans of the
company are as well as see how the rumors and myths are dispelled or
explained so that all of us in the community understand.

Personally.. my issue is with the end of life directives. They consider
certain forms of “life support” to be basic human needs. This means if you
have living will.. and it dictates that your or your family member do not
wish to have your life sustained by feeding tube.. they will not honor it and
you or your loved one will have to be transferred to another hospital that
will honor your directives. This not only adds a burden to a family that does
not need the added burden.. it adds cost to already skyrocketing healthcare
cost. I also beleive that a woman who has been rapped should have the choice
to take a morning after pill.. this hospital will now deny that right stating
it is a form of abortion. If that woman must stay for more than 3 days in the
hospital to treat her wounds.. the pill is no longer effective.

Hi..well I haven’t seen this happen at the hospital and I work there. But who
knows…time will tell. It will be interesting to see how the hospital will
handle these type of questions..because what there saying is in
contradictions to the Catholic Directives. I am curious to see how the
meeting goes..I hope the public turns out to address there concerns with the
 administration.

Sunnie: The fact you work at this hospital makes your comments plausible. I
don’t know about this Carondelet hospital, but I use Carondelet in Tucson for
my medical needs and so far have had no problems with them.

Title: Isn't

a woman who is raped is still given a pregnancy test? Do you think that any
facility would give the morning after pill if she is pregnant? I’ve read the
rules, and know what many facilities do after some research, they all test
for pregnancy and do NOT administer the morning after pill if a woman is
pregnant regardless if she has been raped or not. I believe that’s what the
facility here in town stated in one of their long letters - that the process
is still the same after the agreement as it was before the agreement. As far
as advanced directives - if you are determined that you won’t PDQ die from
your illness, then witholding food and water which would hasten or cause your
death is considered assisted sucide - still illegal in Arizona. Why don’t you
people try calling some other facilities as well. That’s where I learned that
the only difference this agreement has made in regards to medical care is the
discontinuation of tubals. They seem to be on par with other hospitals.
