BISBEE — The city and mining company Freeport McMoran, Inc. struck a deal Tuesday night resulting in the sale of reclaimed water from the city’s San Jose wastewater treatment plant, with a unanimous vote of the council members.

When the treatment plant was built, the city planned the system to produce Class B+ reclaimed water which could be sold to water users like the Turquoise Valley Golf and RV Resort to preserve the aquifers.
