Here is a link to the wikipedia entry for Fort Leavenworth.

He is a soldier, the rules are different. Knight Rider just has things a
little out of order, instead of demoted, kicked out of the Army, and made to
serve the full 60 years. If convicted he will be demoted, serve his time in
Levenworth which is not nearly as pleasant as other prisons. He will then
forfeit all his pay while he is serving his sentence, and then after he is
released, he will be dishonorably discharged and have a felony record. That’s
how the military does it. As for jJimbo’s question about it being harsh. yes,
it’s very harsh, but the man made a very solumn pledge to the people of our
country and he violated their trust. He wasn’t just smoking a little mary
jane to loosen up, he was buying whole-sale and dealing. This man most likely
had a Security Clearance, so we were trusting him with more then just a
weapon in time of war, we were trusting him with secrets and potentially more
then that. As a Signal soldier we were trusting him with how we communicate
secrets.
Does anyone else think that being sentenced to what is in essence a life
sentence might be a tad harsh for marijuana? Also, for those of you obsessed
with government spending, if it costs $20,000 per year to incarcerate him,
multiply that by 60, and you’ll see that we will be spending $1,200,000 to
lock him up forever.
No I don’t believe this sentence is too harsh for a soldier who disobeys
orders. I certainly would not want to be in combat with these types around me
for protection or support. Obviously you have not been in combat or you would
not post such drivel such as this….
He should be demoted, kicked out of the Army, and made to serve the full 60
years. He is a disgrace.
For a media mogul like this there should never happen any errors at all! The
writing errors tend to be monumental for this local news paper. Can you folks
not afford to have a proof-reader hired? Stop the insanity before the
articles hit the press to begining printing.
Trying to read this story made my head hurt. I have never complained about
the poor writing of the reporters, but this one was just horrible! There are
so many sentences that run and run and make no sense. It would be nice if the
story were just reported and not used as a way to use all the nifty words
that were found on google. Poor writing and poor editing on the papers part
for this story. “Both soldiers did made conflicting statements” “Continuing
attacks on Dunston’s veracity were the modus operandi” Ugghhhh!
I know lots of readers have been asking for more details about stories.. more
info but yuck…. at least write the story so it makes sense.
