New ‘drug’ sparks concerns

PHOENIX — The young man shook uncontrollably and couldn’t speak.

As an emergency room doctor tried to figure out what was wrong, the man’s friends showed a package of herbs clearly marked “not for human consumption.”

The man and his friends had smoked it.

As a doctor at Tucson Medical Center, that was Matt Heinz’s first encounter with a substance often referred to as spice. The mix of herbs, sold legally as incense, is increasingly popular among those who say it produces a high comparable to marijuana.

Title: Agreed

It is agreed that we should not regulate our nation out for the latest whim,
whatever that might be! When i was a teen a neighbor kid that lived near me,
got careless & decided he was going to huff from a canister of spray paint.
He paid the ultimate price, he died later that evening! It left his entire
family devastated, but you cannot control stupidity in its own element! There
might need to have a supply of shirts that say, “I have lost my senses
because i caused myself brain damage.” Not just T-Shirts, have the jailers
tattoo any idiots that enter those facilities. Viewing a permanent thing like
that would be eye catching in the mirror. Let that be a listen to all you
junkies & future drug abusers!

Don’t know about you, but I am legislated out! That is what is wrong with
this nany country we now live in. Stupid is as Stupid does, seems to fit.
Unfortunatly, stupidity can’t be outlawed!

I actually agree with Hereford Steve on this one… Clearly we need to start
allowing survival of the fittest to weed out some portions of the gene pool.
Smoking something that clearly states not for human consumption means you are
extremely stupid and quite frankly deserve whatever you get from it. You
can’t pass enough laws to keep all the morons from doing dumb things, you
pass this law and tomorrow there will be some new substance with legitimate
uses that someone will use in ways unintended to get “high”. Remember
whip-its? Great product (delicious) used in an unintended way, thank god we
don’t have to show our ID for a little dessert topping!

Oh great, now what? We are going have a bunch of meddlers standing around
saying “There ought to be a law!!!” Next thing you know my wife is having to
fill out forms just to purchase incense. Just like having to show ID to
purchase some over-the-counter meds that may be used to produce meth. At some
point don’t you all get tired of laws upon laws to protect the stupid from
themselves and hamper the freedoms of the rest of us? Some idiot wants to
smoke, inhale, drink, or eat a poison that produces beautiful images before
it kills him/her, we should just stand by and watch the gene pool cleanse
 itself.
