Henderson defeats Escapule, despite getting late campaign start

SIERRA VISTA — The unofficial election results late Tuesday showed that Jack Henderson beat out Dustin Escapule in the race for Tombstone mayor with an approximately 11 percent lead and 345 of the 623 votes.
Henderson’s immediate reaction was surprise. “It’s hard to contemplate right now,” he said. “I only decided to run just a little over seven weeks ago and I’ve had so much support from the voters in Tombstone that it’s just mind-boggling.”
