Copters once again are flying
SIERRA VISTA — After temporarily halting all LifeNet helicopters in Arizona following Wednesday’s fatal crash in Tucson, the air ambulances are now back in service.
Colorado-based Air Methods Corp. put its six LifeNet Arizona bases and seven helicopter crews on a safety stand-down as a precaution, said Aaron Todd, the company’s CEO. Three members of an Air Methods medical crew were killed in the crash. The AS350 B3 Eurocopter had undergone routine maintenance in Marana and was en route to its home base in Douglas when it crashed.
