BISBEE —  In preparation for the coming school year, administrators at the three schools in the Bisbee Unified School District have been working away compiling handbooks that will be given to parents and students.

The handbooks were up for approval in a special meeting held Thursday morning, but the agenda item was removed due to typos in the one for Lowell Junior High School.

This is actually not accurate reporting. The item was removed because it is
not a board item. The superintendent approves handbooks, not the school
board. It was not due to an issue with a handbook. At this point, drafts are
considered appropriate on the time line.

Handbooks should be prepared for the start of school, and for a former
ENGLISH teacher to submit typos to the board (or superintendent) is an
 embarrassment.

Presenting a draft to the board for approval…. Seriously?!? At least Carol
Loy has some sense!
