Rate changes may be on tap for users of water systems

SIERRA VISTA — Liberty Water Co. will be going before state regulators for a rate increase hearing, along with a consolidation proposal for three water systems. 

Liberty owns Northern Sunrise, Southern Sunrise and Bella Vista water companies. Arizona Corporation Commission Administrative Law Judge Jane Rodda will preside over the proceedings, scheduled Wednesday and Thursday in the commission’s hearing room at 400 W. Congress St., Room 222, Tucson. Sessions start at 10 a.m. on Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Water in the desert is becoming a scarce commodity. Particularly in areas
with low rain fall and with increasing population. There may soon not be
enough water to go around for everyone. We better be concerned and protect
the small amount that we now have to survive.
