Officers and board members of Huachuca Area School Retirees Association recently held their yearly planning retreat at the Landmark Café. The opening activity is the annual picnic at Veterans’ Memorial Park on Aug. 19. If you plan to attend, contact President Roger Tabar at 456-9114. Send to friendCochise County Youth Orchestra is welcoming violin, viola, cello and string bass players to join in the fun next semester, which is Aug. 10 through Dec. 8. Students from elementary to high school age with at least one year of playing experience and who are currently taking private lessons or who pass an audition, are eligible to join. A variety of music is featured. Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Calvary’s Rock Church, 231 N. Canyon Drive. Tuition is $105 for the 18-week semester.
