SIERRA VISTA — In order to secure Arizona’s economic future, it needs to invest in industries of the future, the sole democratic candidate for state treasurer told the Sierra Vista South Rotary on Thursday.
“Arizona should be the solar capital of the world,” Andrei Cherny said.
In the same way that Detroit became Motor City and the southern portion of the Bay Area of California became known as Silicon Valley, Arizona needs to take advantage of its abundant sunlight and become the leader in solar energy, the candidate said.

This candidate appears to have some good ideas, but he has to face reality.
Look at all the boycotts appearing against AZ by individuals and the
different states. Unless this individual can convince these types of people
that they have a false conception of Arizona, his ideas will not gain any
acceptance.
