Breeynna Wallwork, 14, slams a puck during an air hockey match Thursday at the Sierra Vista Teen & Youth Center at Veterans’ Memorial Park. The center held an end-of-school party Thursday, the last day for the center to be open. The center’s closure coincided with the closure of the nearby Apache Middle School. The city continues to move forward with plans for a new teen and youth facility, and anticipates construction to begin during the 2011-12 fiscal year, city officials said. On the left are Timothy Tuley, 14 and Alyssa Fuller, 13.

Copper Queen Library will be closed from 5 p.m. today until 10 a.m. Tuesday in observance of Memorial Day.
