BISBEE — “You people in Arizona have more friends and supporters than you think. We’re all in the same boat.”

The statement was made Monday by Butler County, Ohio, Sheriff Richard K. James in an interview about a two-day fact-finding mission with Ohio Rep. Courtney Combs and Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever.

It’s good to see people from other states are coming to see first hand our
border problem. A picture is a thousand words and it brings the kind of
pressure on our government, from the viewers and those who listen to what
they saw, which causes them to bring action as the recent announcement to
send NG troops to the border. This action was a direct result of public
pressure and not because there is huge concern for border security by the
administration. We hope more out-of-state visitors will come and see the mess
that is being talked about.

When people see the open border betwen AZ and Mexico and see the day laborers
hanging around looking for a job for “under the table” income at the hardware
stores. It does not take a genius to figure out that these people are not
working for Contractors because they are illegal aliens. Do you really think
it’s fair that these people do not have to pay taxes? Do you think that we
should be taxed more so that we can keep paying to support them and their
families on Welfare, education, food stamps etc.? While they collect the
benefits of the tax-paying Americans, they undercut the wages of legal
tax-paying workers. They sneak into our country and steal from the American
people without contributing to the funds which they collect the benefits
from. Charity begins at home. Now more Americans are unemployed, they deserve
the help from the social programs, but we are supporting illegal aliens.
Something has got to change. I agree that the people who hire illegals should
be punished.

Title: Boon Doggle

I’d be surprised if this trip wasn’t paid for by the Ohio tax payers!
Hopefully Dever doesn’t use this as a pretext for a trip to Ohio.
