Border Patrol makes 1,500-pound pot bust
SIERRA VISTA — More than 1,500 pounds of marijuana were discovered in a pickup by U.S. Border Patrol agents northwest of Bisbee, authorities said Tuesday.
Border Patrol agents assigned to the Willcox station found the vehicle and pot, valued at more than $1.2 million, Monday morning in a ditch near Highway 90 and Highway 80, said agent Mario Escalante.
Agents responded to the area after receiving a call reporting suspicious activity.
