SIERRA VISTA — Hundreds of elementary and middle school students from across the county gathered at Cochise College on Friday for the college’s first Math and Science Experience event.
Inside the new student union building, a variety of hands-on experiments awaited the students, including an activity from the Arizona Department of Mines and Mineral Resources.
“They filled a pie tin with bird seeds and we had to dig through it to find these small beads,” said Melanie Parke, a seventh-grader from Benson Middle School.
