Block grant gives family brand-new home

Mary and Ken Seifert look over their newly rehabilitated home in Tombstone after their original home was condemned. The entire project was paid for through the Community Development Block Grant Housing Rehabilitation Program.

TOMBSTONE — “This is just amazing,” gushes Amanda Seifert as she leads guests through her family’s newly built home. “When I walk through here, I’m totally blown away by how beautiful this is.”
Amanda’s parents, Ken and Mary Seifert, echo their daughter’s comments. “I just want to say how wonderful this is for our family,” remarks Mary Seifert, who describes their former house as “practically unlivable.”
Ken Seifert simply shakes his head with a “Wow!”

IM4TRUTH needs to visit a construction site sometime, mostly “day workers”,
illegals. So, once again, our tax dollars for “job” don’t support American
jobs.
Crissakes! We are cutting health care for children and reducing educational
opportunties for all of our young people, but we can sink this kind of money
into these characters? If we are going to spend tax dollars, let’s look to
get some kind of a return on our investments.
Be interesting to see a followup story after a year in order to report on how
‘beautiful’ the new home still is :-)
A “block grant”? Those are the liberal code words for “your tax dollars were
spent on this.” More Robin Hoodism. Giving away free homes now, are we? Sorry
to inform you, but this economy and this country cannot afford this type of
liberal indulgence. We are spending deeper and deeper into debt, and this
sort of thing needs to cease!
These projects generate jobs through the construction industry. We can not
afford to let opportunities like this pass us up. Our country can not afford
lush defense contracts with little results. We can afford to help our own,
and to generate jobs, which projects like these do. Why were you quiet when
bush spent us into recession? The economy is getting stronger everyday. The
US has posted gains the last three fiscal quarters. The economy has rebounded
thanks to the liberals! Typical extremist rhetoric Jimbo.
