SIERRA VISTA — At Tuesday’s lunch meeting of the Thunder Mountain Republican Women held at the Pueblo del Sol Club, the attendees heard from Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne, who is campaigning to become the state’s Attorney General.
Saying he will bring his conservative values as the state’s top educator into Arizona’s highest law enforcement office if elected in November, Horne said he won an important education case for states’ rights in the U.S. Supreme Court concerning bilingual education.

First, blame the families (well, some are families with two parents) and then
the “caretaker” mentality that has enveloped the school system to compensate
for failing parents for the sad performance of students in this state (as in
others). If we didn’t have so many immigrants to teach, we’d have a better
chance at improving test scores. Knowing the language is an advantage when
learning! Then, we spend more “education” money on administration than we do
in the class room. Don’t blame Horne for the failure which originates in the
home.
Horne has been the superintendent of schools for years and the state is still
at the bottom. He has done nothing for the children. All he wants is his
picture plastered all over. I am voting for him to get him out of the
education system to save our children.
You called that one right! … Go to the Dept. of Ed website, anywhere you
click, there’s his face. His ego is big, his ability to lead, low. He
shouldn’t be in Dept. of Ed or attorney general’s office, either.
