PHOENIX — Defending its legality, Gov. Jan Brewer signed what is the toughest state law in the country designed to combat illegal immigration.

The governor rejected claims that the legislation, which gives police more power to stop and detain those not in this country legally, amounts to legalized racial profiling. She said the measure, in the version that finally reached her Monday, contains sufficient protections to individual constitutional rights.

For all of you who support progressives, socialists, Marxists, Leninists,
Maoists, communists, and illegal aliens, tomorrow, May 1, is your day. Is
that why there are demonstrations planned for May 1? HAPPY MAY DAY comrades!

Back in 1999, it was CONSTITUTIONAL for Pres. Bill Clinton & Attorney General
Janet Reno to racially profile a little Cuban boy by the name of Elian
Gonzales & send in armed Federal agents to physically remove him from the
country.
And this new law in AZ is bad because??????

Ran Talbott on Sat, 05/01/2010 - 11:08am

That’s a rhetorical question, of course: nothing even vaguely resembling that
happened on Earth.

On THIS planet, Gonzalez had hearings, and appeals that went all the way to
the Supreme Court (which denied cert, because there was no issue for them to
 decide).

That was front-page and primetime news for MONTHS.

Title: So..

No Federal agent seized Elian from his home in Florida at gunpoint? That
never happened huh Talbott? So I guess the Supreme court said Gonzales did
not have Constitutional rights. Glad to see you agree that only “Naturalized
citizens” have Constitutional rights, not illegal aliens.

Ran Talbott on Sat, 05/01/2010 - 5:00pm

Or, at least, not in this country: I don’t know what may have happened to him
in Cuba, but no U.S. federal agents ever removed him from his home. Not at
gunpoint, or in any other manner.

And your “guess” about the Supreme Court, like everything else you’ve posted
is wrong.

Title: Ran...

Here is a link to Time/CNN showing a picture of FEDERAL AGENTS SEIZING Elian
Gonzalez from his home. You are very wrong — you will also notice the gun
that is pointing at him. I guess this means that everything you have posted
is wrong???? Applying your logic here.

Title: Read much?

That’s another rhetorical question: it’s obvious that neither you, nor
FreeThinker, do it much, or well.

While it’s true that there are people who call Miami “Little Cuba”, that’s
only a figure of speech. It’s still part of the U.S. If it weren’t, there
would have been no need to send him BACK to “his home:.

And no, there is no “gun that is pointing at him”.

Maybe the reason you get so many things wrong is that you need new glasses.

Title: Ran..

You have been proven wrong. You said no federal agents raided, you said there
were no guns, you said this didn’t happen on our planet. Now you are quoting
“gun that is pointing at him”. Rather than admit you screwed up, you are
going to now say that the gun was pointing at the other guy correct? What is
wrong with you? Fail—you were wrong, admit it. If that isn’t a GUN Ran, what
is it? A broom? A pogo stick? Where I come from, that is a GUN. Nice try to
work your way out of this one, there isn’t any way, YOU ARE WRONG…get over
it already. Sheesh…

Communication via the written word is out: you don’t see what people actually
write, just what you want to believe they wrote.

Communication via pictures is out: even in a relatively simple case, you only
what you want to see, even when it defies the laws of physics.

Do you have a sound card on your system? Maybe we could find a way to link to
sound files of Neanderthal grunts, or somesuch.

This is pretty rich from a guy whose catastrophically benighted views have
made him a virtual sideshow of misinformation. Gonzales was removed from his
home in keeping with US immigration policy. He was never racially profiled
any more than a guy with a waterjug found in the desert outside of Douglas is
a victim of profiling. The US immigration policy toward Cuban refugees was
characterized as “wet foot/dry foot.” Cubans who made it to dry land were
given immigrant status. Those who were intercepted offshore were repatriated.
Federal agents were forced to enter the house because Gonzales’ Miami
relatives were refusing to give him up. You wouldn’t begrudge police officers
the right to take protective measures if they were going into a drop house in
Naco, so it’s hypocrisy to get sanctimonious here. The Gonzales case had
extremely complex ramifications in international law and is way too
complicated for you or FreefromThinkin’ to get a handle upon. You should
stick closer to home
