Potentially devastating Medicaid reductions have Giffords worried

Send to friendWASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is asking the Department of Health and Human Services for guidance about potentially devastating cuts to Medicaid as a result of the state budget approved by the Arizona Legislature and Gov. Jan Brewer.
Giffords asked HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to clarify whether Arizona could lose $7 billion in federal funding as a result of the cuts that were signed into law on March 18.
The cuts eliminate KidsCare, making Arizona the first state in the nation to cancel its State Children’s Health Insurance Program.

This is just another example of extremely low IQ levels in government. They
are trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip. You can’t just spend billions of
dollars that aren’t available without consequences. Now our children will
lose their health care and my wife & I might lose ours. Wasn’t this whole
health care thing about helping Americans? It will do exactly the opposite.
Surely the government gurus knew this would happen. Obama just wanted to be
known as one of the most important presidents in history by signing a bill
that no other president had been able to do. Of course they weren’t able to,
because it doesn’t work. They were the smart ones. I shudder to think what is
coming in our future. It won’t be good.
If Giffords was truly concerned, then why did she vote for the Health Care
Reform package? Sounds like is speaking with a forked tongue and does not
really give a darn at those who really need Medicaid to keep them healthy and
from going bankrupt in trying to pay for health care. Sounds like Gabby is
now trying to recant and be sneaky and wanting to avoid defeat in the
November 2010 elections, which is likely because she has been a cronie and
following all of Pelosi’s voting record and wants a bigger stance of
government in our lives! They makes me believe she is happy to be a part of
the socialist government that Obama has fashioned and created. She is not pro
small business either since she voted to have Obama’s health care reform
ready for BHO to sign and ruin our freedoms in this nation.
And she said nothing when she knew full well that the %21 cut in medicare
reimbursements kicked in. Instead we were all treated to emails talking about
how great Obamacare was going to be. Funny how she also said nothing when
Obama outlined $313 Billion in medicare cuts back in June of 2009. Oh, but
now she’s concerned….rite. Ranks up there with “everyone is really really
mad” at how they were blowing the stimulus funds…if she had bothered to
read it I suppose it would of meant something.
She JUST VOTED for a bill that has drastic Medicare cuts, and she has the
nerve to put this out? Gabby just voted in class warfare. She is part of the
green monster whiners—you make more money so you should have to pay for
others. Nice line that has been crossed when Americans feel free to tap into
others pockets. Why do for yourself when you can make someone else pay for
you? Liberals who support this disgust me. What next? The only thing this
bill has proved is that Americans hate success so much they will buy into
anything. There were 43 million out of 300 million reported uninsured. Out of
that 43 million, 9 million were illegals, 18 million were making over $50k.
Leaves 6%—so you people just voted to trash the rates for 85% of the
population to cover 6% of the population—and singling out one group of
Americans to pay for it. That goes against everything this country was
founded for. If this was SO important, why was it rushed through with other
things added??????
Thought the same thing when I read the article. She complains about cuts but
votes for the biggest fraud bill ever put upon the American public. Other
nations have tried to warn us, but bleading hearts can’t listen. They will
whine when the rationing hits though. Disgusting.
These right winged nut jobs like brewer and jack harper are killing our kids
future. They are volatile and hazardous to the welfare of our children, who
are our future. Why are they against children going to doctors? They are the
new baby killers!
Ah Yes, the standard operational procedure, use rhetoric and subjective name
calling. Tell me, since you are such an expert on our kid’s future, who is
going to pay for the great Obama spending spree that has our deficit at
$12,630,080,800,000+? Who is going to pay the unfunded liability that is at
$107,945,076,500,000+? Who is going to reap the corner we have painted
ourselves into by foolishly spending on health care when we almost cant even
pay just the interest (1.8 Trillion) on the debt any longer? You talking of
people killing our kids future rings hollow when you are totally behind the
irresponsible record spending the US has committed in the last year and a
half. Talk about killing the future, the assets per citizen now stand at
$234,119 the Liability per citizen stand at $349,424. We were told we just
had to have the stimulus, not to question it, just do it. Oh, but making me
have pediatric coverage (even though I don’t have kids) on my health
insurance will fix it.
Why does the Herald allow you to post on here. You bring nothing to any of
the arguments on here.

killing our kids future. They are volatile and hazardous to the welfare of
our children, who are our future. Why are they against children having money
when they grow up? They are the new baby taxers! As for your post Im4truth,
it’s lies. Way to misconstrue. I would love to see you in that spot doing
better. By the way, your buddies just voted yesterday for massive cuts in
Medicare. So shock, then point fingers at the state level? Hypocrisy much??
