Bisbee faces heavier load for lights
BISBEE — Arizona Public Service wants a 168 percent price increase for maintaining Bisbee’s streetlights over the next five years.
During a work session of the City Council on Tuesday, City Attorney Mark Langlitz and City Manager Steve Pauken presented a streetlight maintenance proposal from APS that stipulates an increase of $1.50 per light per month. That does not include power to run the lights.
For the past few years, APS has been maintaining city lights on APS poles, city-owned poles and poles owned by other utilities, like Qwest.
