SIERRA VISTA — A congressman and an Arizona state senator, both Republicans, said the GOP has a chance to make both the federal and state governments smaller and to live within their financial means.

U.S. Rep. Trent Franks and state Sen. Russell Pearce gave party faithful their message of smaller, financially responsible government when they spoke Saturday night at the Lincoln Day Dinner hosted by the Cochise County Republican Committee.

Title: Opportunity

You know we hear conservatives advocating flat tax systems all the time,
isn’t this the perfect opportunity to implement a flat tax system capable of
balancing the current State budget? The GOP controls both the legislature and
the governor’s office, you could steamroll anything you want into law
especially if it balances the budget without further devastating education in
this state.

The Republican party has a lot of recovery to do before they can be
recognized by the voters. They must be willing to give back to the voters for
what the voters placed them in office. I personally believe in less
government control. I am opposed to socialistic government. I don’t believe
our original framers of our constitution viewed a socialist form of
 government.

Title: Mr. Hess...

Shouldn’t you have at least done your research before making claims regarding
“main challenger.” I am one of approximately 37% of the registered
“Republican” voters in this state who are supporting Jim Deakin. Nice to know
we can get unbiased reporting from you.
