Baha’i members to hold gatherings worldwide to support jailed leaders

SIERRA VISTA — Members of the Baha’i faith will hold special devotional gatherings around the world on Sunday in support of seven Baha’i leaders in Iran who will be in court that day. The leaders in Iran face a variety of charges that their supporters believe are unfounded and motivated by religious persecution.
The trial was delayed twice, and the two women and five men have been held at Tehran’s Evin Prison since they were arrested in March and May 2008.
