BISBEE — An illegal immigrant from Mexico shot dead by a Border Patrol agent near Douglas had been sentenced in 2006 for a felony drug offense in federal court in Tucson.

Jorge Alfredo Solis-Palma, 28, was killed by an agent east of Douglas on Jan. 4 after reportedly throwing rocks at agents while trying to elude apprehension.

In 2005, Solis-Palma was charged with conspiring to possess with intent to distribute about 49 kilograms of marijuana and possessing the drug with intent to distribute it, according to online court records.

Title: Illegal

Illegal means not legal. Sorry folks but I cannot have any emphathy for
illegals invading our country committing crimes and getting slapped across
the hands, sent back across the border, only to return and try again.

Somehow I don’t s/he is worried about the “murdered immigrant”. One less drug
distributer, as cold as that may sound. This one obviously didn’t learn to
stay home the first time around, he just learned not to be taken if at at all
 possible.

This is an article writen by Shacat. That explains it all. When did he ever
lean towards a Border Agent when an illegal was involved? He is always more
concerned about the illegals.

This story is about the illegal’s previous crimes in the U.S. However, the
heading doesn’t do the BP agent any justice. Why should he cringe everytime
he looks at the paper? It should have read: deceased illegal had criminal
 record.

Title: Oh wait...

so he wasn’t some poor nice person just looking for a job to support his
family? What??? This is what all the activist groups tell us—although the
statistics tell us otherwise. And to think, the Herald was focusing on this
guy and not the injured agent—I don’t get the train of thought where we
concentrate on the criminal and not the victim or the ones out there trying
to stop this. Looks like this one bit the Herald in the butt—they started to
try and portray the “poor illegal alien” in previous stories and it backfired
 horribly.

Title: ah, windsor

you forget that the focus was on the victim, the illegal. BP (and by
extension America) is always the agressor, and thus the wrongdoer.

Title: Not

You really expect this liberal rag to report accurately? Liberals love to
bend the news to their point of view. Even the headline for this story is
sad. You see they left out the illegal part in the headline.

great headline. two thoughts: 1)so the illegal had a criminal record before
he was killed, what was his record like after he was killed? 2)why the
emphasis on an agent killing the illegal? are you trying to cast our agents
in a poor light? “illegal had criminal record” would have been better.

Sumtingwong on Wed, 01/13/2010 - 03:09

Before he was shot he had a criminal record? Immigrant? It should have read,
Illegal shot by agent was a convicted criminal.
